About Attachment Coaching

Attachment Coaching

I specialize in working with people in two main areas:

What is attachment coaching?

Healing your insecure attachment can be life-changing. We interpret the world through our core wounds and beliefs that comprise our attachment style. We base our life decisions and actions on that interpretation. Through healing ourselves we have more of an ability to work toward creating the life we want without beliefs we wouldn't choose for ourselves. Healing our attachment style is an opportunity for the freedom of being completely responsible for our life and personal truths.  We get to decide what is right for us.

What does the general coaching process look like?

I summarize what I do as an Attachment Coach in the video below.

Hi, my name is Jennifer Jones. I've been certified as an Integrated Attachment Theory coach by Thais Gibson (pronounced thai-ease) as of January 2023 and a member of the school for two years.

I specialize in two areas, working with Adult Children of Narcissists and working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, especially women-identified women who love women.

Due to IAT training and personal experience as an Adult Child of Narcissists, I understand how profound the feeling of being different than other people and not belonging can be. Feeling so much shame can result in isolation, which is a painful way to live. My goal in working with someone is to help shorten that period of time.

As a coach, I teach people to identify and heal core wounds and limiting beliefs, identify and meet personal needs, and identify and communicate boundaries. People who were raised by narcissists usually develop a Fearful Avoidant attachment style, and will often be in a in a state of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn, and they won't be aware of their own needs.

There are two main tools that I think especially help Adult Children of Narcissists. The Emotional Processing Tool helps during or looking back at a time when you were triggered. The emotional processing tool helps in the short term to identify painful beliefs and unmet needs. Longer term, it helps to reprogram limiting beliefs through emotion and imagery.

The second tool is Nervous System Regulation. People see results from Nervous System Regulation over the long term as they change their baseline state from sympathetic nervous system state (fight/flight/freeze/fawn) to parasympathetic nervous system state (rest/digest).

The Emotional Processing Tool is for getting relief in the moment. Nervous System Regulation is a long term practice to shift emotional system dysregulation so that there is the presence, brain power and energy to practice the rest of the tools that Thais has developed.

The amazing thing about Thais' work is that anyone can heal more than they ever thought possible. All that's required is showing up and having the courage to continue doing the work.

Take care.

What is the fee for coaching?

The fee for coaching is $180/hour.

How long is the coaching process/how many sessions do people normally do?

I work within the context of a goal-oriented short-term coaching program. The program and number of sessions can vary to meet an individual's needs. The amount of time needed to go through the program is generally about 3-4 months of one session per week. People find this work life-changing.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

No, not at this time. However, we can try to work out an individual program that works within your budget. Please note this may mean fewer sessions over the same amount of time as a regular program.

What is the scholarship fund?

The scholarship fund gives people or organizations the opportunity to make financial donations that directly subsidize sessions for BIPOC folks. Those who donate can choose to have their contribution acknowledged publicly on this website, or may choose to remain anonymous. Contributions will be publicly recognized unless instructed otherwise. Each gift of $2340 will entirely cover a 3-month program for one BIPOC community member, or will cover several partial scholarships. Thank you for your generosity if you decide to donate to this fund.
